"A time... ship." Okay, she needs to process for a moment. She looks around and decides to just sit on the ground where she had been standing. Zari may not get why, but this is a lot to take in. "You travel through time and space. Without the stargate."
Sam shakes her head, chuckling at the rejoinder about men. She's doubly jealous Zari not only gets along with her brother, but gets to share nerd shit with him!! Ugh, her life is really hard in comparison, huh?
"The rest of my team are men, including my commanding officer. So... I know exactly what you mean there." At some point, she should ask if anyone's actually spoken to them because... well, Daniel would be fascinated by all of this. Teal'c would be suspicious and Colonel O'Neill would have exactly 0 idea what's even happening. "So, I take it you figured out how to predict and pinpoint solar flares in the future? On a ship, my god. How far in the future are you? Wait, don't answer that, just in case. We accidentally traveled back to 1969 by taking the gate at the exact moment of a solar flare. But it was only with future knowledge we managed to get home, obviously."
She immediately turns back on her heel to go join Samantha. It takes her a few seconds to put it all together given how badly she wants to hand over the win to the team. Zari quickly remembers her reaction to the Waverider. She knows she needs to slow her roll. She sends over the data to the group chat with a few quick swipes. Zari needs to make the time to get this connection right for Sara's sake.
She takes a seat on the floor next to her, legs beautifully crossed as she hears Sam out. "That is actually outside my area of expertise." Zari admits once it seems like Sam is done talking. "You know my first day here I actually screamed for 2 minutes straight and tried to call for help. This was lot for me too. For what it's worth you are handling it extremely well." She praises sweetly.
Sam smiles brightly when the other woman sits down next to her, not having expected even a simple show of companionship. It's strange to be solo even if it's easier too not to have Colonel O'Neill breathing down her neck.
"Oh, I've been in far more dangerous situations than this. This is mostly just... really cool." When Zari admits she doesn't know how the ship works, she starts piecing a few things together, her tone warming up a bit as she asks about Behrad. "That's right. You said your brother is the ship's engineer? I'd love to pick his brain sometime. Which reminds me: I actually should check in before they launch search and rescue on the surface."
She pulls out her radio to notify Jack about what happened. He doesn't get the technical aspects, of course, but says they don't need her below and to keep doing her nerd thing or whatever. Sam signs off with a Thank you, sir before turning back to Zari to continue their conversation.
"When you say future... can you tell me how far? I didn't think Earth was anywhere close to this type of technology. Actually, I know we aren't. I have a pretty high security clearance. In fact, this is anything beyond what we've seen even from super-advanced races like the Tollan. Like I said before, we only managed one event of time travel and that was entirely a fluke."

i need to find out why dw hid two tags from me!! the betrayal!!!
Zari immediately nods at the request. She knows they'll hit it off. It's another thing to look forward to once they have Sara home. She waits patiently for Sam to do her thing before continuing. The big brains are probably blowing up the group chat with ideas on how to proceed. Maybe this will be the push Ava needs to step out of her grief long enough to step up and save her woman.
"2044 for me and my baby bro. Some of the others are from 2020, one is from well into the 2220s, and the ship itself is from the 22nd century. Oh! We've actually had people from the 1940s before too. A hero from that time totally mentored my baby brother." Zari humble brags. What? She's allowed to be proud her brother learned from someone who punched Nazis in the face and was part of the first superhero group! "Any more questions?"
"The 22nd century... wow. And when you're all here on the ship I'm guessing there's some sort of pause in the time dilation field that keeps your interaction from impacting the time stream itself? Like an inertial dampener for time travel..."
This is usually about the time (ha) people's eyes start glazing over and she shoots Zari an apologetic look, even if she is a fellow nerd at heart.
"This doesn't look like a military vessel which means... this is a civilian op? Who do you guys work for, wait don't tell me, it's N.I.D. isn't it? Those guys are always on our tails."
Sam smiles blandly as she slowly gets herself back up with all her gear still accounted for and extends a hand down to Zari to help her up too since she only sat down for her sake in the first place.
"Are you authorized to give me a tour?"
